You will be able control the direction and speed using a compatible Bluetooth phone. Charging the car is as simple as plugging it into your Sony Ericsson phone like an external accessory attachment.

You are what you drive. And the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth™ Car CAR-100 is an impressive statement. In addition it's also an incredibly fun gadget. Use your Sony Ericsson Bluetooth™ mobile phone to charge and control the CAR-100 and you'll have hours of fun. Range reaches up to 33 feet. Gaming doesn't need to be a piece of software anymore.

FAQ :

  • It's not possible to drive the CAR-100 even though the battery is fully charged?
    1. Please disassemble the body work from the chassis.
      NOTE: Do not put any pressure on the front wheels.
    2. Hold the car up-side-down.
    3. Put your thump between the rear wheels and press the front spoiler forward and pull the chassis backward/upwards.
    4. When the wedge of the chassis has snapped out of the hole in the spoiler push the system connector forwards. You have now disassembled the chassis from the body work.
    5. Pull up the black little jumper located next to the shield can.
    6. Attach the jumper and the body work again. The CAR-100 is now totally reseted and needs to be paired again with the phone.
  • The car will not start to move and/or turns very poor. What's wrong?
    • Check that you don't have dust or hair in wheel axis and gear wheels.
  • Where can I use the car?
    • It's recommended to be used indoors and on clear surfaces, i.e. hard and clean surfaces.
  • What is the maximum driving time?
    • Depends on your car 100 charging time and your phone battery status. Up to 15 Minutes.
  • How long does it take to charge the battery?
    • It can take up to 1 hour if it's battery is drained, but the principle is if you charge for a few minutes you can drive for a few minutes.
  • How do I drive the car?
    • You use the keys on the phone to control the car.
    The "1" button is forward.
    The "2" button is left.
    The "3" button is right
    The "4" button is backward.
    You can also use the Joystick and the Volume keys to control the car.
  • How do I turn off the CAR-100?
    • Press and hold the button until the light stops flashing.
  • How do I reset the CAR-100?
    • To reset the settings in the car, press and hold the button for more than 30 seconds while the car is being charged. This also clear current pairing.
  • The LED does not turn red when CAR-100 is attached to the phone.
    • The CAR-100 has a very low battery.
    Attach the CAR-100 to the phone for up to 20 minutes.
    De-attach CAR-100 from the phone and attach it again. Then the LED will switch on.
  • Even when I go straight the car is pulling to the left.
    • Underneath the car between the front wheels there is a little switch where you can change the steering settings.
  • Is it possible to change the speed of the car?
    • Yes it is. The car has three different speed options. To change between them press "*", "0" or "#" button.
  • A successful pairing have been executed. Bluetooth™ is activated on the phone and the light flashes green on the CAR-100. Why can't I drive the car?
    • You need to activate the Bluetooth™ connection between the phone and the CAR-100.
    1. Press the button on the car for 1 second.
    2. "Bluetooth Car Speed=2" will appear in the phone display. Now you are ready to drive.
  • What do I need to use the CAR-100?
    • You need a phone with Bluetooth™ to be able to connect to the car. Please check the Compatibility list.
  • I have charged the CAR-100. What do I do to be able to use it?
    • When you use your CAR-100 for the first time you need add it to the list of devices in your Bluetooth™ phone. This is also known as pairing.
    To pair the CAR-100 with your phone, please follow this procedure:
    1. Activate Bluetooth™ on your phone so it's ready to add a device. See the phone's user documentation.
    2. Press and hold the button on the CAR-100 for approximately 10 seconds, until the light flashes red and green. Make sure that the car and the phone not is more than 1 meter from each other.
    3. The passkey of the car is "0000" Now the CAR-100 and the phone is paired and ready to use.
  • How do I charge the CAR-100?
    • Attach the CAR-100 to the system connector on the phone.
    First time charging it can take up to 1 hour. When the light flashes green the CAR-100 is ready to use.
    Please note: The Car 100 will automatically switch off after about 5 min if not removed from phone to avoid draining the phone battery completely.

    CAR-100 is compatible with many replacement / upgradeable parts from Bit Char-G & Zip Zaps. The only real differences include the PC board, lack of aerial antenna and a longer chassis. Motor, gear set, tires are all swappable between brands but not bodies since the SE CAR-100 has a longer chassis:

    • Bit Char-G body is 60mm long, SE CAR-100 is 70mm long.
    • Bit Char-G wheelbase is 40mm long, SE CAR-100 is 50mm long.
